Over and over I have read Psalm 51:10. The NIV reads: “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” It is so often a prayer request of mine.
While reading the Message, I read it translated in a way that spoke to me. “God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.” Wow. A Genesis week. Genesis, known as “the Beginning.” It is not simply renewing the steadfast spirit. It is about getting the spirit right, the way it was to be in the beginning. The way it was intended. God is all about taking chaos and making order.
You might not think the Genesis week can happen amidst all the chaos, but with God anything is possible. He can renew your spirit. He can rekindle the flame. He can give you a fresh start. These are promises. This is truth. I pray you may have a Genesis week.
