Energies of Prayer

You are not going to like everyone and everyone is not going to like you. The Bible says to love your neighbor, but Jesus made a point to tell us to love our enemies. It is hard to love people who do not love back but Jesus told us how to respond—with prayer.

Pray for those who persecute you. Pray for your enemies. Pray for those who are more difficult to love. Pray. Pour out the energies of prayer and watch God move.

Your prayers may not change the person, but they may change you. Pouring out love rather than hate is always the best response. Acting in compassion never goes unnoticed. Your show of mercy may plant many seeds. Keep on loving. Keep on praying.

“I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves.”

-Matthew 5:44 [MSG]
