We have our good days and our not-so-good days. There are days when we find ourselves saying, “This is the best day of my life.” Or maybe “one of the best days of my life.” Those are the days we love most, and yet, if we consider them alongside all the days of our life, they will fall short.
We focus too much on time here on earth, but this is not our home. The Bible tells us that our perspective should be an eternal one. The time here on earth is only a small pinch of eternity. Having a great day is awesome, but it is nothing when placed beside a single day in God’s courts.
Today, rejoice during the good and bad days, but know that something beyond imagination is coming. Keep your focus on the eternal. Having that perspective allows you to live a life of gratitude, full of peace and joy—a life that glorifies God.
“A single day in Your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.” – Psalm 84:10 [NLT]
