21 Pilots – “Car Radio”
Sometimes quiet is violent
I find it hard to hide it
My pride is no longer inside
It’s on my sleeve
My skin will scream reminding me of
Who I killed inside my dream
I hate this car that I’m driving
There’s no hiding for me
I’m forced to deal with what I feel
There is no distraction to mask what is real
I could pull the steering wheel
I have these thoughts, so often I ought
To replace that slot with what I once bought
‘Cause somebody stole my car radio
And now I just sit in silence
- Silence can be frustrating, even painful.
- Waiting can be exhausting.
- We have all birthed some Ishmael’s at some time or another because the wait was too much.
- We give up or give in
- We try to make things happen
- We take things into our own hands
Let us be a people who Pray Through the Waiting
- Are you abiding in Christ?
- Have you wandered?
- Is there an action you can take or a need for repentance to move forward?
Habakkuk 2:1-3 English Standard Version (ESV)
1 I will take my stand at my watchpost
and station myself on the tower,
and look out to see what he will say to me,
and what I will answer concerning my complaint.
2 And the Lord answered me:
“Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it.
3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.
Micah 7:7 English Standard Version (ESV)
7 But as for me, I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
my God will hear me.
Psalm 25:4-5 English Standard Version (ESV)
4 Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
5 Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.
