My Helper

Read Psalm 86. My life verse is Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (ESV). I cannot tell you how many times I was feeling like my head was underwater, and the Spirit reminded me of this verse.

In today’s verse, the Psalmist declares, “For I know Your help is on the way.” God promises you: “I will help you.” He is faithful and true. He is my helper; He is your helper. Because of this, we can fear not! We can be confident. We can rest knowing He is our helper.

Often when the problems of this world come our way, we try to find all the answers in our own power. We seek out our friends and family for assistance. We sit around and worry, and even become depressed. We take our chances with possible solutions that sometimes make things even worse.

The Psalmist says, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” (121:1-2 NIV). We do not have the answers, but we know He who has every answer. We do not have control of most situations, but we know Who is in control of the earth and upon it. He is the Maker of heaven and earth. He is God Most High. He is your helper.

Today, thank Him for His help. Thank Him for His provision, for His grace, for His comfort, for making the way when it seemed out of sight. If you are struggling with anything right now, give it to Him. Ask for His help. Remember, He is your helper.

“Whenever trouble strikes, I will keep crying out to you, for I know Your help is on the way.” – Psalm 86:7 [TPT]

“So we can say with confidence, ‘The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?’” – Hebrews 13:6 [NLT]
