The Bible tells us that the veil has been torn. The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38, Luke 23:45). Hebrews 10:19-20 says: “And now we are brothers and sisters in God’s family because of the blood of Jesus, and he welcomes us to come into the most holy sanctuary in the heavenly realm—boldly and without hesitation. For He has dedicated a new, life-giving way for us to approach God. For just as the veil was torn in two, Jesus’ body was torn open to give us free and fresh access to him!” (TPT).
All of this is GOOD NEWS! The veil is torn. We now have direct access to God. However, as Paul reminds us in today’s verse, so many still have closed and hardened minds. So many have veiled minds. Even the Good News of Jesus is veiled for some people. Why? Because they have been blinded by the god of this age, Satan, so they are not open to hear the Truth of God. As we look around today, it is very clear that many people are living veiled lives.
What can we do? We can live unveiled. We can take the opportunity each day to enjoy the direct access we have received. Pray continually. Every day we neglect to pray, we are missing out on the amazing blessing we have to be able to approach our Father and connect with Him unhindered. As we pray, let us also be reminded to pray for the veiled. Remember, their minds have been blinded. They cannot see — even the Good News is veiled to them. Let us pray for their hearts to be open to receive the Good News. Finally, let us thank God for His Son. Because God sent His one and only Son, the veil was torn and the gift of new life is offered to all who believe. This my friends is good news!
“Their minds were closed and hardened, for even to this day that same veil comes over their minds when they hear the words of the former covenant. The veil has not yet been lifted from them, for it is only eliminated when one is joined to the Messiah… Even if our gospel message is veiled, it is only veiled to those who are perishing, for their minds have been blinded by the god of this age, leaving them in unbelief. Their blindness keeps them from seeing the dayspring light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the divine image of God.” – 2 Corinthians 3:14, 4:3-4 [TPT]
Thank You Father for Your Good News! Thank You for tearing the veil and offering us direct access to You. You alone can save! Help us to never neglect this great opportunity we have to connect with You. Lord, we pray for those who do not know You. We pray for their eyes to be open to Your Truth. Lord, may Your Spirit move in mighty ways today! In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
