My Life Sucks

There is something that I hear and read too often – My life sucks. Sometimes it really can be frustrating to hear these words, especially from the mouths of Christians. Usually it is not something that is said once, but it is a way of life for some people. Perhaps the person believes he or … Continue reading My Life Sucks →

Whatever Happens Rejoice

When things are going well, it is very easy for us to rejoice. Everyone loves when things are going well. When we have free time to spend with family and friends, we are happy. When we have enough money to pay all of the bills, we are joyous. When we are healthy and feel energetic, … Continue reading Whatever Happens Rejoice →

Yet I Will Rejoice

When things are going great in life, we can always find reason to cheer. Yay! My daughter just had a baby. Yay! I just got a promotion. Yay! I won a contest. But what do you do when things aren’t going so well in life? We are to be joyful in all situations—at all times … Continue reading Yet I Will Rejoice →

Burnt Pancakes

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. … Continue reading Burnt Pancakes →

Enough is Enough

My son opened up the fortune cookie and pulled out the small slip of paper. The paper read: “He who knows that enough is enough will always have enough.” That is very true. During this time of year, it seems we spend so much time making Christmas lists, gift purchases and giving presents to each … Continue reading Enough is Enough →

Running

When I was younger, I always was amazed at the story of Jonah. I imagined this man attempting to run away, and yet “the LORD hurled a great wind” and next thing you know he was swallowed by “a great fish.” Who tries to run away from God? It seems crazy and yet I … Continue reading Running →

Just finished @sheilawalsh1 book “In the Middle of the Mess: Strength for This Beautiful, Broken Life.” My new book... “We Will Not Be Silenced” by @erwinlutzer
“He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where He lay.”
I watch the same shows again and again. In no particular order (I select for the mood of the day)...
“But emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
Bath Time and Banana Bread... oh my!
I reached my Move goal every day in March with my #AppleWatch.
Final Destination
Today is your special day Marci!! Eight years young! Happy Birthday to the one who runs the house. She is our very own Princess Disney! This Chicky Chicky makes her own path. She’s an instigator on every walk. Loves to meet new people. Loves to get her dog friends in trouble by getting them amped up. She’s a burst of sass combined with a pinch of cat acrobatics and a whole lot of cuddles. She daily challenges the delivery fellows but is quick to hide when I drive over a tree branch. She enforces quiet time, will only eat bananas that are two days or more ripened, tears up her Kohl’s accent chairs, and is the messiest eater. She adores her brothers and sister. Teases the one brother, tortured the other. She demands attention and she will give you a good smack when she wants some food. She likes to sleep in and she is diligent with her budget. She loves to watch football and listen to soothing music on the HomePod. Her favorite thing to do each day is to explore the neighborhood.
I reached my Move goal 44 days in a row on my #AppleWatch. That’s my longest streak ever.
